Ever wondered what makes the difference between the clever adverts you see on TV and most small business Youtube #video clips? It’s as much about the strategy as the execution, or the quality of the filming. See and read some examples I wrote about for the Smart Connect Business Alliance here.
So in summary:
1. Constrain yourself – you’ve only got 30 seconds to communicate. This challenge brings out the best.
2. Don’t be safe conservative. Don’t go with the first most obvious way of communicating your message
3. Find a key audience insight “their truth” and leverage it
4. Steal, extrapolate, brainstorm, and push ideas to the extreme.
By way of example, I do like this advert. Based on the insight (3) that some guys actually like to mow the lawn.
